Joseph Vernon Duncan has had considerable training and experience in the theory and practice of agriculture, particularly in the area of field vegetable production and Farm Management.

He is a graduate of the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry, now UTT. He holds a BSc degree in Agricultural Science from the University of the West Indies, and a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, U.S.A. The author also worked with the Ministry of Food Production, in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, for a period of 18 years, first in the Agricultural Extension Division, as Agricultural County Officer, St. George; then as Agricultural Planning Officer II and Agricultural Planning Officer III in the Agricultural Planning Division.

He is married to Joycelyn for the past 48 years and have three adult children Simone, Verneille, and Curtis.
