ABOUT THE BOOK

This handbook is a breakthrough in the documentation of proven methods in flatland and hillside vegetable production in the tropics. It is written with special reference to vegetable farming in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago,

but is applicable to similar climate conditions elsewhere. It emphasizes the practical aspects of vegetable production and answers the question ‘how to?’, offering the novice as well as the knowledgeable an organized approach to vegetable farming.

At last, here is the comprehensive and in-depth practice of field vegetable production that you have been waiting on. The author provides some unique techniques on hillside farming gleaned especially from his practical work in this form of vegetable production on the hillsides of Maraval, Trinidad.

For the export-minded farmer, there are revolutionary ideas on large-scale vegetable production. Much appeal surrounds this area at present by virtue of the increasing demand for exotic tropical fruits and vegetables in foreign markets.
