God has spoken to us saying: “Because of the long lay-off of spiritual activities during the COVID-19 calamity, unknowing to many of My people, their altars have either gathered much dust, broken in some places, or broken down completely, pieces strewn all over in some cases. Your altars, the ground of your authority and power in the earth, are in a place of disrepair. Observe what happened on Mt Carmel. After the prophets of Baal had miserably failed to get their gods to bring fire on their bullock, My prophet, Elijah knew that he dared not call on me to send fire on a broken down altar, for the altar of the Lord on Mt Carmel was broken down, mainly because of the terror of Jezebel and Ahab. First he called the people closer to him and “he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.” (1 Kings 18:30). This is what I desire My people to do in this season, says the Lord.”

The Lord also showed us something profound in Exodus chapter 20 and verse 24: “An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.” God is saying to us that once we build our altars to His specifications He will come there and sign (record his name) in a covenant or contract with us; and bless us right there. This is the day of the battle of the altars. Ironically, while Satan and the kingdom of darkness are busy promoting their altars and satanic worship, the Church of Jesus Christ is laid back in their homes, watching streams.  God showed me that we have no real legal challenge against the intensity of Satan and his emissaries unless we get intense ourselves, and make serious commitments to Him, based on His word. This is what our altars are for, to covenant with God, to commit ourselves to what He demands of us in His word, to sign a renewed contract to follow Him at all cost. The fire will not come unless the altar is properly repaired and the wood is carefully placed to accommodate the sacrifice.

God showed us how our altars are to be rebuilt. First of all, identify the particular commitment you desire to make to the Lord; it could be to love the Lord with all our hearts and to love our neighbour as ourselves (An Altar of Love), or Diligently obey the voice of the Lord (An Altar of Obedience and Loyalty); or Purpose to live righteously before God (An altar of Righteousness). Look through the scriptures for verses that would support your specific commitment and establish that this is the way you desire to walk with God. Once that commitment is made, the Holy Spirit will then have a reference point by which to guide you, and keep you in check if you happen to deviate from this contract.

We are excited about this DDay, for we have a strong mandate for the Body of Christ. Let’s see how we can mobilise the body of Christ in a big way. I’ll be grateful for some feedback regarding how we may link up with networks around the world so we can rebuild our broken altars all over the world.
